The Data Subject Access Request (DSAR) was a primary tool for getting your personal data from organisations, that did not necessary have your permission but had gathered. Unfortunately, a DSAR is not a vechicle to use for a ‘Fishing’ exercise in a dispute as organisations are only obliged to provide your personal data and not extracts of conversations in media. However, many organisations and members of the public are not aware as DSAR’s have not had enough case law to define. Further information or advice can be sort from our experts.
